Pallid fischeri - Some time ago, I wrote an article about the latest Phenotype findings from Agapornis Fischer.
I included some photos for you to judge how Pallid Fischer is. To be able to recognize if it is pallid in your aviary.
Some questions came via email, and there were not a few doubts about Pallid Fischer. As usual, new things certainly raise a question.
Articles about Agapornis pallid are widely read by visitors to this blog, especially visitors from the US, Philippines, and Pakistan. No wonder there are so many questions.
This article will describe some progress of Pallid Fischer's phenotype as a follow-up to my previous article.
The latest update about pallid lovebirds
Pallid Fischer Phenotype
Pallid Fischer has phenotype characteristics as in Agapornis Pallid Roseicollis, which has been present first.
Melanin ranges from a 50% reduction in the overall feather. They are born with red eyes.
But they will have normal eyes after 2 - 3 weeks. Your eyes will appear red when exposed to the flash from your camera.
The reduction also occurs in the legs and nails. The color of the feet and nails is almost entirely fleshed red (pink).
Pallid Fischer Genotype
Like other SL mutants, Pallid Fischer has the inheritance of SL (Sex-Linked)
mode. They will inherit only phenotypes in hens when crossing with normal
birds.
1.0 pale X 0.1 green :
100% 1.0 green/pallid
100% 0.1 pallid green
1.0 green/pallid X 0.1 green :
50% 1.0 green/pallid
50% 1.0 normal green
50% 0.1 pallid
50% 0.1 green
The female pallid will only produce the bird splitting when crossed normally. If you already work with pale and opaline, you no longer need to consider this.
Pallid Fischer Co- Dominant Pale Fischer
You will get an intermediate phenotype if it is a cross between pallid and
pale. A simple case in co-dominant a Locus. You will get a pastelino if the
cross between Pastel X NSL ino.
But this time, we are dealing with
a case of SL (Sex-linked) that is more complicated if we are not used to
working with a row of SL mutants.
In the palepallid intermediate,
the eye is not red when exposed to the flash. The color of palepallid feet
also tends to be darker when compared to pallid.
1.0/Pallid X 0.1 Pale :
100% 1.0 PalePallid
100% 0.1 Pallid
This case study has been practiced by breeders breeders in Indonesia.
The above formula is identical to the pallid's case in Agapornis Roseicollis.
You can use a genetic calculator with the formula /Pallid X SL ino.
Many
are in denial because SL ino has not been found on Fischer, remember..!! No
law states that SL ino must appear first in the case of pallid Fischer.
Because mutants can occur at any time and in the order in which these genes
appear.
Pallid Origin Indonesia
You can read the quote from the official mutabase website by Mr. Dirk yourself in the image below.
It will be interesting to wait until the future; as usual, melanin mutations
will be an extensive range combination with Green Series CPR and PPR.
It
is more enjoyable when there is a Yellowface / Orange face in the green
series, while in the PPR line, there is Aqua Fischer.
Necessary: This mutation/phenotype in Agapornis fischeri can still be better understood. More research and/or breeding results are needed before conclusions are drawn.
