BVA Masters 2023 International Lovebirds Show

BVA Masters 2023(Belgische Vereniging Agaporniden) is back to hold the annual event that lovebird hobbyists have been waiting for. After holding the BVA Sales Day event in July, it is now the turn of lovebird hobbyists and breeders to compete in the BVA Masters 2023.

This event will be held on 7 - 10 September 2023, in Aalst, Belgium. Aalst is a town in East Flanders, Belgium, located along the Dender River, about 31 kilometers northwest of Brussels.

The town has a long and rich history, with historical roots dating back to medieval times. Aalst is a town that offers an interesting combination of history, culture, and modern life, thus making it an attractive venue for the annual BVA Master event and allowing you to savor the atmosphere.

As usual, the event was attended by many participants from different countries such as Portugal, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, and Belgium.

Just a reminder for you young hobbyists: The BVA is an official association founded in 1992. The idea was developed to start a club specifically for Lovebird breeders and keepers.

The idea seemed to appeal enough to about two hundred people, so the official date was 1 November 1992. BVA Masters International is an event that lovebird enthusiasts from all over the world look forward to.

The society aims to unite all Lovebird breeders and promote the breeding and showing of the species, among other things, by publishing a bimonthly magazine and collaborating with national and foreign organizations fighting for the same goals.

Our first show was held in September 1993 in a small village called Delle-Winksele (Belgium).

250 Lovebirds of various species could be admired. The first five years were not very easy. Money is needed to run a club, and funds are not always available.

At certain times, some Committee members took on extra work for a few nights to pay for the printing of the magazine's next issue. But it's worth the trouble. We now have over 1000 members.

We provide information about the various species and their color mutations through a bi-monthly magazine (color print with lots of photos). More than one new color mutation has been introduced to the world in this way.

This information is intended for beginners and experienced breeders. To keep our information current, we collaborate with different communities from several countries and breeders from Belgium and abroad.

Yet another important goal of the BVA has been the defense of the interests of Lovebird breeders and exhibitors. At the BVA's initial suggestion, all the major national societies of Belgium and the Netherlands now use the same name for the same color mutation.

And here is some documentation of the winning birds at the BVA Masters 2023 International Lovebirds Show.

It should be emphasized that the result of a photo may be different from a real bird due to the screen's limitations in displaying both color and contrast.
