Calcium source for lovebirds
Cuttlefish bones are the most affordable source of calcium for lovebirds and other birds and are generally easy to find at your local pet shop. So that it does not break easily.
When cuttlefish bones are not available at your local store you can buy a packaged product from Vetafarm - Calcivet. A good product that I have also used several times, it contains 33grams of calcium and 25000 IU of Vitamin D3.
The next alternative to Versele laga products - Calci-lux is a concoction from Oropharma that has been highly tested in the pigeon world. With 7.25% calcium lactate and dextrose, it is certainly good for lovebirds. Both are in powder form, so you need to sprinkle on soft food or extra food and mix into the dish.
